That's probably the reason why most people don't use their small devices as effect boxes. One should have an audio interface for the iPad for proper signal flow. I did this right from the start when I got my first iPad, into the insert slots of the hardware mixer. Using small devices (also RasPi etc.) as effect devices is not a bad idea in my opinion.

Audulus is very good with filters, for example a VP-330 filterbank that sounds surprisingly realistic. There is also Audulus that runs on iPad/iPhone. That's just a short list.there are many, many other apps that can be exploited to great "effect".ĭon't think of it as dumbing down your Eurorack system, but rather leveraging its possibilities. zMors Modular - More than effects, this will actually translate controls to CV, so you could easily add envelopes, LFO's, oscillators, sequencers into the mix.from your iPad.pretty remarkable. Flux:FX - Incredibly exhaustive effects suite with an emphasis on performance/control. Borderlands - Perhaps the next best thing to an MI Clouds without all of the "unobtainium". Some "apps" that run exceptionally on current iPads when used with ODIO:

The AD ODIO that I linked above actually opened up an entirely new world of effects integration into my Eurorack system that I didn't even think was possible without a convoluted arrangement of several modules/outboard gear, etc.

I'd argue that the iPad could ultimately be considered to be just as effective as using a PC (resources dependent, of course) which you had recommended using instead. OP didn't say "iPhone" either.rather, "iPad". To be fair, the OP is looking for effects.while one may have spent a considerable amount of money on a Eurorack system, the options for traditional effects within the format are relatively limited and often run on the same chip (RT60 vs Flame FX, for example). If money is an issue just use your PC and vsts. If yes, I would say why bother? You have spent thousands on a eurorack, running it through an iphone app seems silly.
